Built for a Mission
-Yukon River Knives-
I'm Ron Stepp. I've lived in upstate South Carolina all my life. Growing up in the country, every boy I knew hunted, fished, camped... and every boy and man I knew carried a knife.
My fascination with knives turned into a business in the early 1970's. I began buying and selling knives at trade shows across the country. Over all the years and all the miles I've made a little money and a whole lot of friends.
The concept for Yukon River Knives was born a few years ago, as knife maker Owen Baker and I drove back from the Dallas Safari Club Convention. Our thoughts were two-fold:
To bring to market a knife that embodies all the design elements and premium materials found in a full-blown custom knife, at an affordable price.
To help fund our greater passion, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with people in remote parts of Alaska. (read more on the Ministry Page)
Owen Baker Jr. has designed and built custom knives for over 30 years. His knives are in many collections and hunting packs all across the globe. We have partnered with White River Knives, of Freemont, MI, to put some of Owen's knives into production.
White River Knife and Tool is a family operation with a passion for making premium, American made knives. They use the finest USA sourced materials and each knife is warrantied for life.
Their statement of purpose is: "To make knives with impressive fit, finish, and functionality.
